We notice that a common tactic by scammers is to bully a partial refund out of a seller. If they don’t comply, they instantly leave negative feedback, even if the seller offers the option to return, for a full refund. We are aware of this scheme. If we deem that you fit within this criteria, or better put, have been accused of doing this in the past, we will cancel your order without notice, to save ourself the headache. We catch a lot of flack over this and other policies. Simply put, dispel your entitlement Karen. We aren’t required to sell to you. We don’t owe you a thing. Generally the individual’s that feel the need to message us with their disdain for our policies (typical Karen/Ken mentality), and they always do, are always the biggest offenders. Our opinion, if the shoe doesn’t fit, why would you even care? Unless… If you’re taking the time to send us hateful messages, you likely fit into this category and essentially proved our point. We won’t stoop to your level by responding. We will in fact take the high road. We will in fact politely block you, report you and expose you. It’s as simple as that. Generally, one of the reasons we cancel, same as many other sellers, is due to, what we consider, red flags. One example of a red flag is if you consistently leave NEGATIVE FEEDBACK, that is unwarranted. To us, these are signs, that you may potentially be a problematic buyer. We don’t deal with problematic buyers (retail terrorist), EVER! Typically, problematic buyers are individuals that find fault or resort to nit-picking with items, when there are extremely minor to no issues at all. In the seller world, we call this “fishing”. Their goal is to illicit or “fish” for a partial, but preferably, a full refund from the seller. In turn, they get a free item without returning, after they misuse Ebay’s returns system. I can assure you, we will not comply. Don’t bother asking for a partial refund. Please try the next store if that’s your end game. Please note, we don’t cater to overly high expectations, we cater to realistic expectations. If you message us, expecting an item to be perfect, that’s not realistic. Nothing is perfect. These conditions may appear harsh, but they are put in place for a reason, and that is to protect this seller from the hoard of bad buyers and/or potential scammers that are present on this platform today. 1q. Chargeback scammers will be handled appropriately, to the fullest extent of the law, and will subsequently be exposed. These criminals make false claims with their credit card institutions stating that they don’t recognize a particular charge or charges, in order to fraud, deprive or inconvenience the seller. These individuals know the system and they are aware that credit companies generally side with their customer, the buyer. These people are very unethical and should have no place anywhere that offers credit as a form of payment. 1r. The seller shall leave positive feedback for the buyer, only in the event that the buyer leaves positive feedback for the seller, first. This action is not automatic. No other instances, shall apply. No exceptions to this policy will be granted. If a buyer leaves negative feedback, that buyer will immediately be blocked from all future transactions. Again, please do not circumvent the block. If the buyer had a bad experience that warranted leaving negative feedback, it is assumed by the seller, that the buyer would refrain from ever returning. The block just simply ensures that. If a buyer leaves neutral feedback, the same actions apply, as leaving negative. You will be permanently blocked from shopping at our store. From our experience, most of the neutral feedback received, we’ve found to be 100% unwarranted. Neutral feedback falls into that realm of individuals, whom are generally hard to please. It serves as proof and a reminder that you can do everything right, and some individuals will still find fault. 1s. Naturally if you legitimately feel that the item that you received is not as described, you should be entitled to return the item. Be forewarned, you are NOT entitled to a return based upon buyers remorse. A buyer should not open an Item Not As Described (INAD) case solely because the seller refused to accept the return through normal processes for your remorse. An INAD forces the seller to accept the return and incur all the cost associated. This is what we like to call, “Return Retaliation”. A buyer can’t or won’t accept the fact that their return wasn’t accepted, especially when it was clearly noted in the listing that a seller doesn’t accept returns. On rare occasions, buyers have even resorted to intentionally damaging the merchandise, just to deprive the seller of their item(s). It should be noted that some sellers actually accept returns, but they require buyers to pay the return shipping. Most buyers are happy to oblige. A few aren’t and will gain the system to get around paying the return shipping by making false claims. These tactics are unethical and again, forces the seller to foot the bill for the buyers egregious actions. Another form of Return Retaliation is when a buyer request a partial refund in order to keep the item, but the seller request that they return it, for a full refund, instead. Generally that buyer will make a false claim of flaws or over embellishing a small detail, that is likely to be, hardly noticeable to the naked eye, a-k-a, nit-pickers. Oftentimes, bad buyers are unwilling to provide proof to substantiate these claims in which they present, making them otherwise unfounded. A few simple pictures of the “actual” item, highlighting the issue(s), would’ve sufficed. Needless to say, the buyer will proceed to be unhappy with the outcome, concerning the fact that they actually have to return it. They will therefore resort to retaliation against the seller for not playing ball and failing to cave in to their demands. There is no pleasing these types of people. They’ve likely pulled this scam dozens of times before, in the past. As a wise person once said, “If it’s good enough to keep, it’s good enough to pay the full asking price”. In both of these forms, the bad buyer is more than likely to leave negative feedback out of retaliation, because you as a seller, didn’t give them what they wanted. Subsequently, to instill fear, they’re likely to make reference through messaging of leaving a “review”. From our experience, review is a code word for negative feedback. The buyer is just being careful with their deceptive practices in how they word their threats of feedback extortion. In some instances, the bad buyer may flat out state that they plan to leave negative feedback, for obvious reasons. Please see section 1b. If any of this applies to you, please, we kindly ask that you shop at another store. As stated prior, we don’t issue partial refunds. You will always have to return the item if you force the return. All items and/or parts of the item, will need to be present and accounted for, when returned. That means you stating that you threw it away, discarded, gave it away, donated, lost it, etc., will not be acceptable. Everything must be in the original condition in which you received it. If these terms cannot be met, you will not be entitled to a refund. Knowing this in advance, please take this into full consideration. No need to even resort to retaliation, just simply skip our store. This will save both parties a great deal of drama. We are not responsible for the buyer’s remorse or error in failing to do so. We weigh very heavily against buyers, whom create false return claims, due again, to the buyer’s error or remorse. The seller may accommodate the buyer at their discretion. Please ask, and not assume. 3e. Once an item shows as delivered, as a seller, our role in the transaction has been completed. If a package shows as delivered but you still don’t have physical possession of it, please check with your mail carrier or local post office. In some instances, it may result in a police report being filed for a missing package, if your jurisdiction allows. We are fully aware of the typical Item Not Received (INR) scam. It is one of the most common scams on Ebay today. Just note, making such egregious or outlandish claims, isn’t just a matter between 2 parties in this matter (buyer and selller), this also involves the U.S.P.S. (Postal Service). This is considered mail fraud, which is a federal crime. By you claiming that you never received your mail, you’re insinuating that the Postal Service either lost it, or intentionally stole it. We will immediately report you to the U.S.P.S. Postal Inspector as soon as we receive a report such as this, that isn’t resolved in a timely manner, when we suspect fraud is at play. Stop using FREEbay as your personal 5 finger discount hub. Have some integrity. Ebay is full of small time sellers that work very hard for every penny. Stealing from some can be the difference between keeping the lights on or not. Keep that in mind next time you decide to mysteriously not receive a package, even though tracking shows that it’s delivered. This also takes us to the typical “switch-a-roo” or switcheroo scam. This is when a buyer will purchase a seller’s item that may be in good and/or proper working condition, and tries to swap it out for for their junk. What they swap it out with may be the same but worn and battered or, it may be something entirely different altogether. For all intents and purposes, it could be swapped out for a bag of rocks, or anything that the buyer just simply doesn’t want. The buyer opens a fraudulent claim with ebay, and essentially deprives the seller of their original item due the criminal intent. In general, like any other transaction, dropshippers will start off by making a purchase from you, as a seller. Dropshippers will sometimes claim that it’s a gift for a friend, relative, co-worker, etc. From our experience, to prey on our sympathetic side, the Dropshipper will claim that the individual is sick. In our opinion, these are less than truthful statements, considering they all use the same prerehearsed script. They’ll sometimes ask that you violate ebay policy by requesting for you to send the item to a different address, other than the one that’s on the account. They’ll also request that you not include an invoice, receipt, or any other distinguishing features with or on the package. They prefer to keep the details of who’s truly sending the package hidden or secretive from their customers. Usually, they’ll give you assurance that they’ll leave positive feedback for doing so. This is simply a manipulation technique. This is often proven to be a lie. As a seller, you’ll be sending the package directly to their customer. Shortly after (sometimes before) receiving the item, the scam starts. The dropshipper will claim that an item wasn’t received, doesn’t work, it isn’t as described, or a host of other fraudulent claims. They’ll generally never provide any proof to substantiate their claims. This is a tactic to finagle a partial refund out of the seller, which ultimately increases the dropshipper’s net profit. For this reason, we say NO dropshippers. The pretext in which they present the sale from the start is very shady. So it’s not surprising that they later, try to scam you. Don’t fall victim. Typically, upon purchase, a seller can expect a dropshipper to leave a Buyer note stating: “Hi Please do not include any invoices, receipts or paperwork inside the package. Also, please test it thoroughly/clean before shipping out. Will leave positive feedback for your efforts. Thank you!” Immediately after the item is delivered, you can expect them to send you prerehearsed or copy and pasted statements, such as: “Item was just received today in the mail and it is completely non-functional. It Will not work at all it’s making a high pitch squeal noise and will not function as intended.” “Must have happened during shipment these shipping companies can care less about packages they toss them around” “I’m know how to fix these things. Im a mechanical engineer. if you want to just give me some money back I can go ahead and get started this way we can both save the time and shipping cost. I will make sure to leave positive feedback as well.” “It was actually a gift for my disabled cousin. We’re going there the holidays so I was going to take a look at it. It sounds like it is just the belt that reads the discs. I’m sure I can figure it out. If not, I might return it but if you don’t hear from me, you know, I fixed it once again. If a dropshipper purchased yours, you’ve likely sold it cheap enough to trigger their radar. To be fair, not all dropshippers operate in this fashion. Some are quite honest, operate within Ebay’s Terms of Service (TOS) and want for nothing but to make a decent and honest living. It’s the small percentage that I described previously, that ruin it for all by engaging in unauthorized activity.
