eBay Really Neat & Rare Antique Optical Collection Features a Scarce “AMERICAN OPTICAL COMPANY” Testing Set that is loaded with lens, bridges and has a neat Victorian “Look” Chart Also, Miscellaneous Collection of Vintage Glasses, lens, parts & other. Circa:1890-1910 This is a very nice collection from an estate sale. Everything in pictures is included as shown. The American Optical Company kit is quite rare in this size and the only that may have ever been offered on eBay. We searched back over 20 years and could not find one from eBay. We have seen larger sets, but none in the compact fold up case (approx: 11″x5.25″ when closed). It has the really cool side panel with instruction card and other. The green case is marked “FITS-U” and snaps closed. The case has aged wear and some “old time” staining and mild odor, but nothing pronounced. The black fold up case and collection has a soft off yellow felt for inserting glasses & has some pretty nice old glasses. We have sold several antique optical works (glasses & other) over the years and often for $50-$100 or more for a single set of specs depending on style and other. We are selling these items as a package and are pricing far under a “piece out” price of course. We did not do a full count on all lens, glasses or other but there are several pieces as shown & quite a few misc bridges, lens, and some loose parts as well. We are just selling as shown. We will be delicate in shipping to protect items as well. Please look over all pictures and use zoom if needed. We are not experts on these old gems. Some may or may not be gold or gold layered as many are from this era. We are simply selling for collector value. We did see a patent date of Dec 24, 1901 on one loose bridge but we expect most of these are from 1890’s to early 1900’s, with a few later additions. The set of stretch over sunglasses are likely post 1950 and they are actually pretty nice & usable. We saw a few with what looked like a 12K mark, but again are not sure if that means gold, sizing or other, so do not buy assuming there are gold frames as we are not sure. Some frames in sets are complete, some not, some damaged, some not but all together a great collector find. Please Read: See our Feedback & Buy with confidence. We also photograph most items above $100 while packing in case a shipper were to ever damage an item (only one time in over 2,000 US shipped sales). For this reason, if an item is ever damaged, it will be the Buyer’s responsibility to file a claim with the shipping service and we can provide photos from packing to assist Buyers. The process is not difficult, but the timing of such does not allow adequate time for the item to be returned to us and then for us to proceed with a claim (chain of custody questions can arise as well on returned items due to double shipping and handling so it is just easier for Buyers). So again, as noted in listing, we do not offer returns. Sales tax is charged according to your state or country’s regulations. Of course, there is free local pick up and we can meet to assist if you are near Indianapolis or driving through. We do this often. Signature confirmation will be required if your item is above $100 so please plan accordingly. We can make an exception if you do not want a signature confirmation, but keep in mind if an item is delivered & goes missing from your porch, mail box or other prior to you retrieving the item, shippers will not cover it and you would have to assume the risk. Also, FedEx & Others are beginning to require signature on items above $500-$700. Last, we have discounts with FedEx & eBay on shipping which do not always show up in eBay estimates on shipping. We try to refund what we can when there is a notable difference, but we do not know until we actually process the shipping order.
