How to Play Cigar Box Guitar B L U E S MeadGuitars has teamed with international blues teacher, author, and musician Andi Saitenhieb to produce another great teaching DVD The entire focus of this teaching experience is on playing the twelve-bar blues on a cigar box guitar. This DVD contains more than 2 hours of detailed step-by-step instruction that cover many authentic and interchangeable 12-bar blues song components based on the works of blues founders Little Walter, BB King, Buddy Guy, Robert Lockwood Jr., Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, and Junior Wells.The twelve bar blues progression is one of the most prominent chord progressions in popular music today. It has a distinctive form in lyrics, phrase, chord structure, and duration. It is known and played world-wide. Once you know the basics, you can play for hours with friends or strangers. You will fit in practically anywhere the blues are being played. Even if you don’t speak the same language, you can play along if you know some 12-bar blues song components. Each of the 13 chapters is broken up into 5 videos that focus on a “high” and “low” part of a given song. Each with its own characteristics, but both fitting together nicely. And most of these high and low parts can be played with those learned in the other chapters of the DVD. You will gain the ability to easily mix and match the pieces as you see fit. After completing this course, you will have enough skill to make up your own riffs, rhythms, and songs, all sounding great together in the 12-bar blues style.In addition to hands-on instruction from Andi, each teaching video includes dynamic on-screen tabs and overlays. These show you the specific fingering of each note and includes graphics indicating hammer-on, sliding, and muting. No need for books, or sheet music with strange symbols.
