Diamond Select Toys ‘Legendary Marvel Super-Heroes’ 8″ boxed action figure set for SPIDER-MAN, from the Marvel Comics series. This 2015 boxed set is a reproduction of the classic “Mego”-style action figure from the 1970s, and includes (1) costumed action figure, along with other costumes and accessories. The original solicitation for the item read: “The Marvel Retro line will capture the nostalgia of the 1970s in a series of limited edition 8-inch figures, starting with none other than the Amazing Spider-Man. Spidey will feature a real cloth costume, as well as additional heads, outfits and accessories to turn him into your favorite version of the wall-crawler! It will all come packaged inside a deluxe window box, along with a reproduction of the classic packaging. Spidey will only be available in a limited run, so get on board now, before his amazing friends and foes join the line! Designed and sculpted by EMCE Toys!” The figure wears a cloth outfit that is a reproduction of the rare ‘circle suit’ variant costume that has a large spider symbol in a circle on the chest. The figure is packaged in an interior box that mimics the style of the original Mego window box packaging, with the new ‘Legendary Marvel’ logo. The entire set is packaged in a corrugated cardboard shadow box, with a plastic cover, sealed along the right and left sides with gold foil stickers. Also included are a reproduction of the ‘standard’ Spider-Man costume, and a “Peter Parker” head, outfit, accessories, and a collector mini-magazine. BY PURCHASING THE ITEM, YOU ARE STATING THAT YOU HAVE READ THE AUCTION DESCRIPTION, AND EXAMINED THE PHOTOS PROVIDED, AND THAT YOU KNOW THAT THIS IS A 2015 LIMITED EDITION REISSUE OF THIS FIGURE, AND NOT THE ORIGINAL FROM THE 1970s. The figure is new, never removed from the box, and the box shows some light general shipping and shelf wear, and light scuffing on the plastic. The heavier corrugated cardboard makes vertical lines show on all panels of the box, with heavier lines more visible on the back panel of the box. There are light scratches and scuffs on the front plastic (with one scuff almost directly above Spider-Man’s chest logo), a large semi-circular scratch on the back panel, and other light marks. We have taken several photos to show how some of the edges of the light cardboard on the interior of the package have slightly curled at the edges (photos #12-16). The bottom edge of the box is not perfectly flat, so the box does not stand on its own, unless it leans against something. The pictures show the actual item that the winner will receive. If you require a mint package, we would suggest that you pass on this item. This item will be carefully packed for shipping. We do combine shipping for multiple items purchased at the same time.
