This unit is the Audio Technologies Incorporated model M100-1 Ultimike Microphone Preamplifier, It is an unusually quiet preamplifier which has impressive hum and RF rejection. It has XLR input and output connectors and it will accept a +20 dB maximum input level. It has a –20 dB gain switch and the phantom power is switchable as well. There are also switches to reverse the phase of the signal, insert a low cut filter and turn the built in comp/limiter on and off. You may also switch it between limit and peak and there is an adjustable threshold control. There is a jack to allow you to remotely control the unit’s gain and an entire block diagram of the signal flow is printed on the side of the case. The preamplifier operates on 115 VAC and the power supply is built in. How many times have you needed a good microphone preamplifier and wound up using a camcorder or a field deck? Forget it; this is an all pro, excellent sounding preamplifier with complete control. New this unit sold for $350. This is retro-analog sound.
