Genuine Alfa Romeo by Rodania Automatic Chronograph !!! Made in the 1970’s-1980’s. Ultra rare model, impossible to find it, yet along in this condition: top condition, considering it’s age, over 35 years old, a brand new genuine leather band, completely and fully functioning, keep very good time and the chronograph’s hand resets to zero flawlessly. Swiss made. PVD coated case. High-end quality enameled dial, will last for decades. EXTREMELY RARE MODEL, they rarely appear on the open market, usually being sold between connoisseurs or with an Alfa Romeo classic car !!! The car and the watch – both can be works of art. Just one look at this Alfa Romeo automatic chronograph, will convince you of the artistry that has gone into the making of this fine timepiece. The name of the Alfa Romeo has so far been exclusively due to products of outstanding quality on four wheels. This product to emerge from the eminent house makes no exception. A glance at this watch tells you more than just the time. Meticulously designed, using only the highest quality materials and components, the chronograph is protected against shock loads, variations in temperature, water and dust.A stainless steel case that has a black PVD coating on it and a mineral crystal glass, will safeguard your precious timepiece for many years to come. The brown dial that has a gray inner ring with a Tahchymeter scale on it, crisp white minute markers and hour markers, three sub-dial counters in the classic configuration, a sharp Alfa Romeo logo on the small second counter at 9 o’clock and <> logo and logotype next to the day/date at 3 o’clock, will make this timepiece an eye catcher. The PVD coated stainless steel <> houses the <> of this timepiece, a fine Swiss made, top grade, Valjoux 7750 self winding movement, which incorporates no fewer than 25 Jewels and has a power reserve of 48 hours. A screw-in stainless steel back makes the watch waterproof (I assume it’s 3 ATM, but don’t try it, it’s a vintage timepiece). Every known brand submits the watch to a 2-phase test in a chamber, where it has to withstand to pressure for the minimum length of time required by industrial standards. It may seem a paradox, but low pressure-resistance, say at 0.5 bar equivalent to 50 cm depth is more critical to achieve, because increasing pressure tends to compress the seals, thereby increasing the resistance; the second phase test conducted at 3 bar (30 m.) is confirmatory. Because of a solid case-construction, the known brands watches will resist to 10 bar (100 m. or 300 ft) and we could confidently call it a «diver’s watch» 2. HOWEVER: The water resistance of a wristwatch is constantly challenged by mechanical wear caused by bumps, shocks etc., rapid changes in temperature, caustic acids, chemicals, etc. and can therefore not be guaranteed as a permanent condition.
