CAPACITY,13.75″ DIAMETER METAL 16mm FILM REEL Compco manufactured a wide variety of products in the photography and DIY film industries, including enlargers, printers, projectors, reels, and reflectors. Established in the mid 1930s at 2251 W. St. Paul Avenue, Compco expanded in 1957. The last notations of this corporation are seen in the mid 1960’s. 16mm, 1600 FT. reels were usually used for commercial made films because of their capacity. The standard color for this brand is grey. However, they did comply with customer’s choice of color requests on larger orders. This auction is for a vintage 16mm movie film metal reel with storage can. It measures 13.75 inches in diameter and has a capacity of 1600 feet of film. (See Pics) It was part of an inventory removed from a home of a CAMERA COLLECTOR after he died and the owners sold the home. These reels were among a number of CAMERAS AND PHOTOGRAPHIC SUPPLIES. They all looked like in decent shape. So, I am selling it “AS IS” NO RETURNS NO REFUNDS, and pricing it accordingly. Condition: This reel appears to be in excellent condition. It is about 50 years old, some may have slight surface rust or markings, see pics. Due to the quantity available, the item pictured may not be the actual item you will receive, but similar. Some have a small sample of film. COLORS MAY VARY.” See Pics The blue letter mark is for stock identification. It is dry erase marker and comes off with a damp rag. So far, I have sold quite a bit of items from that lot and have had no complaints yet!!
